We Are RISERS

It should come as no surprise that Bryon and I love Dierks Bentley's new album, Riser. Anyone that has followed me long enough knows that Dierks has been a part of us since the beginning. His lyrics seem to speak to so many of our own experiences and so when Riser came out, we were floored. Like... floored.

After all that we have survived, we are blessed by God. We are warriors. We are dreamers who refused to give up on the possibility of hard love - the kind you work for and earn and live and breathe. Each of us individually fought through explosive change in our life to meet one another. I guess it took Dierks Bentley to put the best possible lyrics to that story. We are RISERS.

Lay your pretty head down on my shoulder
You don’t have to worry anymore
This old world is cold and getting colder
And I know how to lock and bolt the door

I’m strong enough to hold you through the winter
Mean enough to stare your demons down
The hard times put the shine into the diamond
I won’t let that keep us in the ground

I'm a riser
I'm a get off of the ground, old running hider
Push and comes to shove
Hey and I'm a fighter
Darkness comes to town, I'm a lighter
But get out aliver, out of the fire
Survivor

IF you we ain't got no money I can make it
I ain't afraid of working to the bone
When I don’t know what I do and I can fake it
Ya, ill pray to jesus rolls away that stone

I'm a riser
I'm a get off of the ground, old running hider
Push and comes to shove
Hey and I'm a fighter
Ya darkness comes to town, I’m a lighter
Get out aliver, of the fire, survivor

I'm a trier
I'm a get down low so I can lift you higher
An army couldn’t keep down my desire

I'm a riser
I'm a get off of the ground, old running hider
Push and comes to shove
Baby I'm a fighter
Ya darkness comes to town, I’m a lighter
Get out aliver, of the fire, survivor

I’m a riser

And Dear B: I'll hold your hand until the day we die. You are an amazing husband and father to our four little peeps. Loving you is worth everything passed and anything future. Thank you for being mine.
